At InterCom Design, we use Adobe PhotoShop 5.5, Xara WebStyle 1.0 & 2.1, Microsoft Image Composer 1.5 and Microsoft GIF Animator as our image editing, creation and optimizing software of choice. These software programs are very expensive and some are now unavailable. Maintaining a good software archive is mandatory if you are going to do web design, you never know when good software is going to become unavailable. As with anything, it takes time to learn new software and with imaging, you must also know some basic art principles involving coloring, contrast and shading. We suggest using some of the programs below before investing $700 in PhotoShop. You may also find some tutorials that will be helpful.
    The downloads below are free and not as complicated to use but are also much less powerful and versatile. We provide these links for the benefit of those who want to try their hands at image creation and avoid any software expense.
